Apply
plaster on the surface with 13 mm to 20 mm (1/2" to
3/4") thick layer of Cement mortar, keeping the proportion
of cement and clean sand as 1:3 level and surface with batten
and check it to plumb.
BAL Adhesives can also be used. |
 |
Use a wire brush to scratch the
surface in zigzag pattern. Wet the surface thoroughly. |
 |
1. Apply a coating of 4 mm to 6
mm (1/8" to 1/4") of pure cement on the above
plastered wet surface and let the coating dry for 15 to 30
minutes depending upon the weather condition. |
 |
2. On the unpapered side of
Shon Mosaic Sheet, apply a thin and even layer of white or grey
cement in paste form to suit your colour combination. |
 |
3. Fix the sheet on the
plastered wall holding it in such a way that the papered side
faces you while the cement coated side fixes on the surface. |
 |
4. Tap the fixed sheet with a
wooden batten to level the tiles. |
 |
5. Let the
tiles fix for about 1 to 1.5 hours. Wet the paper with a
soft painting brush. |
 |
6. After the
paper is wet, peel it off starting from the top corner and
moving downwards. |
 |
7. Clean the
tiles surface with water. Apply white or grey cement paste
wherever there are badly filled cavities and replace the
defective tiles with good ones, if necessary. |
 |
8. Next
morning, scrap the surface with brush and clean it with a
wet cloth. |
 |
9. Sprinkle
water over the entire surface with a soft brush twice a
day for 3 days. |
 |
10. Use
Hydrochloric Acid and wash the shon surface thoroughly
with water. |
